Red Bull

Major Release Hubs

Here are six examples of how I routinely utilized the Red Bull CMS toolkit to design and implement custom page setups for major live events and VOD releases, increasing user retention within the Red Bull platforms. These pages were a key part of the overall project marketing strategy.

Dakar Rally

Updating setup over two months to move page from pre-race analysis, to two-week live coverage, to post-race features.

The Cut

Geo-responsive design highlights US season or UK season, depending on access location. See redbull.com/thecutusa versus redbull.com/thecutuk

UCI Mountain Bike World Cup

Multiple custom features and updating content rails create single destination for the entire season which is constantly refreshed with new content.

K2: The Impossible Descent

Major VOD release with direct and audience-specific related content, most notably an interactive story tracing the adventure.

WESS Enduro World Championship

Single destination for all of Red Bull’s enduro content, including both current season events and prior year highlights.

Scuderia AlphaTauri Honda: F1 Livery Reveal and Fashion Presentation

Live event page serving the needs of a live media product, F1 audience, and fashion storefront.

Copywriting

I wrote the Red Bull TV streaming app style guide prior to the app’s launch and oversaw the first year of copy production, editing two freelance copywriters and writing quite a bit of copy myself. Here are six examples out of the hundreds of shows, films, and live events I worked on.

Fast Life Season 1

“The world of mountain bike racing is competitive, dangerous – and fast.”

MX Nation Seasons 1-3

S3E1 – “With the surprise retirement of Ryan Dungey and the crushing injury of Ken Roczen, the outdoor 450 class finds itself with an absence of superstars and an opening for a new champion.”

Reel Rock Season 1-3

S1E5 – “A pair of British climbers invade America to take on the toughest offwidth climbs in the country.”

The Glamour & the Squalor

“Marco Collins is the DJ who made bands like Nirvana into mainstream stars. His impact on rock music is undeniable, but his life has been as full of turmoil as the music he’s championed.”

Distance Between Dreams

“A crew of top surfers, headed by Ian Walsh, paddle in on one of the world’s biggest waves: Jaws.”

Game Loading: Rise of the Indies

“Explore the world of indie game developers – their craft, games, dreams and the way that these small teams of artists and programmers have changed not only video game culture, but the world at large.”
